HOW DO THE REBATES WORK?
All available rebates will be applied to your quote as a point of sales discount. After your installation we then submit our application to claim these rebates back from Government approved traders.
WHAT REBATES ARE AVAILABLE?
Right now there are multiple rebates available.
- Federal Rebate available on both Solar Panels, Solar Batteries and Heat Pumps. These are identified as STC's.
- NSW State rebate available on Solar Batteries. These are identified as PRC's
- NSW Rebate available on Heat Pumps. These are identified as ESC's.

STC Solar Panels & Heat Pumps
In NSW, the Small-Scale Technology Certificates (STCs) rebate is available for both solar panels and heat pumps. This rebate is calculated based on the amount of renewable energy your system generates and can reduce installation costs significantly, with rebates typically ranging from $700 to $1,100 depending on your location and system size.
At Goulburn Solar, we install eligible systems that qualify for this federal incentive, ensuring you benefit from lower upfront costs. We will guide you through the process, handling all paperwork to make the rebate application as simple as possible.
Heat Pump Rebates
By switching to a high-efficiency heat pump, you can save money on your energy bills and take advantage of Federal (STC) and State (ESC) Rebates.
HOW MUCH IS IT WORTH?
The STC and ESC rebates vary based on the type and size heat pump you install. You could expect to save around $600 with the STC rebate and between $100 to $400 with the ESC Rebate.
FEDERAL REBATE (STC)
The Federal STC rebate is available on all new heat pump installations. This STC rebate value reduces each year from 1st January, so the sooner you install a heat pump the bigger the rebate value.
NSW REBATE (ESC)
The NSW Government State rebate is complex, and has strict eligibility requirements. The value also changes significantly when you replace an Electric Hot Water System vs replacing a Gas Hot Water System.
PDRS Battery Rebate
Starting from 1st November 2024, the NSW Government commenced a Peak Demand Reduction Scheme (PDRS) offering rebates on the installation of solar batteries.
This is allocated as a point of sales discount to eligible battery installations.
Key Points:
- Cannot have existing battery already on site
- Eligible only up 28kWh usable capacity e.g. 2 x Tesla PowerWall
- Identified on your quote as a PRC discount
- Estimated rebate between $1400 and $2400
- Long term, available until 2050
