HOW DO THE INCENTIVES WORK?
All available incentives will be applied to your quote as a point-of-sales discount. After your installation we then submit our application to claim these incentives back from Government approved traders.

STC Solar Panels, Batteries & Heat Pumps
In NSW, the Small-Scale Technology Certificates (STCs) incentive is available for solar panels, solar batteries and heat pumps. This incentive is calculated based on the amount of renewable energy your system generates and can reduce installation costs significantly, with incentives saving you thousands depending on your location and system size.
At Goulburn Solar, we install eligible systems that qualify for this federal incentive, ensuring you benefit from lower upfront costs. We will guide you through the process, handling all paperwork to make the incentive application as simple as possible.
Heat Pump Incentives
By switching to a high-efficiency heat pump, you can save money on your energy bills and take advantage of Federal (STC) and State (ESC) Government incentives.
HOW MUCH IS IT WORTH?
The STC and ESC incentives vary based on the type and size heat pump you install. You could expect to save around $600 with the STC incentive and between $100 to $400 with the ESC incentive.
FEDERAL INCENTIVE (STC)
The Federal Government STC incentive is available on all new heat pump installations. This STC incentive value reduces each year from 1st January, so the sooner you install a heat pump the bigger the incentive value.
NSW INCENTIVE (ESC)
The NSW Government incentive is complex, and has strict eligibility requirements. The value also changes significantly when you replace an Electric Hot Water System vs replacing a Gas Hot Water System.
Cheaper Home
Batteries Program
The Cheaper Home Batteries Program is the common name for the Federal Government expansion of the Small-scale Renewable Energy Scheme (SRES), offering the STC incentive for solar batteries. This program provides a significant point-of-sale discount to make home energy storage more affordable for Australian households.
Key Points:
- Must be paired with a new or existing solar PV system.
- Incentive applies to batteries with a usable capacity between 5kWh and 50kWh.
- The incentive is tiered to favour standard household sizes; 0-14kWh (100% incentive), 14-28kWh (60% incentive), 28-50kWh (15% incentive).
- Incentive available until 2030, dropping every six-months.
